Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

As i am waiting on replies I figured i would ask here as well. How do I spray paint my bases and caps with metal cast. I tested on two different objects, and both look milky white. I don't know what I did wrong.

One was a stainless steel coffee cup. It has this milky white substance that want go away. If I wet it (since it was a test object) I can see the purple color underneath, then it dries and back milky. I really hope to get a step by step, whether I need the promoter, a clear coat finish and everything. I need advice onhow to do this. Please be nice :) Thanks.
