Problem with cap of lava lamp.

Ok i colored my lava lamp red because clear looked really not in the mood. Well the cap is put on but if i hold it upside down for a few seconds water drips out. How do i tighten the cap? Even if i do tighten it will it still be good to use? Will it explode?This will help me out alot and i would also like an instructional guide of how to fully tighten the cap. The cap im talking about is the bottle cap on the glass that holds the water.

I would advise against turning the bottle upside down again. Especially since you are asking this question :)

You need to re-cap the globe. These are not screw caps. They are one time use caps unless you know what your doing. Either way, you need a capper to fix your issue. This will seal the globe permanently again. It needs to be done with the globe COLD (not used/hot). No it will not explode.

Keep the old cap on until you can figure something out. If it's not fully sealed, evaporation can take place - which means the liquid will evaporate. Unlikely if you keep it somewhat sealed.

I'm not planning to use the lava lamp until i fix the cap. Thanks for the advice, ill keep trying till its tight. And ill try to see if i can get the capper.

Also, can i just put duck tape around it? Or seal it up with the hot glue gun? And still use it after these solutions? Or is it gonna be the same and evaporate and and something will be wrong with it?
