really wonderful spot, and a pretty clever way to save the boxes without losing a lot of space.... only.. how much dust in between there :(

Thanks a lot! This is the result of collecting since 1987, and this is a bit less than half. I put the display together about 6 months ago, with the intent of creating a massive display of as many different colors and shapes as possible - I have very few unique lamps that aren't in here. The massive number of light buolbs needed came from a warehouse liquidation sale, as did the 5 ot 6 power strips running it. Some of the other collectors on here have done WALLS of shelving full of lamps in rows, which looks even better!

The orange Carlisle is exactly that: I had a base with a number of small, but noticeable, dings and dents, as tends to happen to Carlisles. On eBay, I saw a Carlisle that, at some point, had had its base sprayed day-glo orange, I think it also had some hippie-ish stickers on it. I though "I wonder how likely are the chances that that was modified in the 70s, and could be called an "original" vintage mod of a lamp?" So I bought a new white/orange globe and steel cap, and sprayed both base and cap with fluorescent orange spraypaint.

The "genie bottle" was a thrift store find, which I filled using a new 32oz. bottle. The thing I love about it, besides its funky shape and flared cap, is its ability to fit comfortably on most any base, 32 or 52 oz. with ease. It looks great on a Decorator with a very bushy flower ring, like the one in front.

See the "buy/sell/trade" forum to read the fate of the globe in that squiggle Decorator down there (the globe actually goes to an Aristocrat base)

Took five power strips to run this. They're stacked loosely in the spaces to the left and right in front of the four tall boxes holding up the back. Boxes are:
Back group of 4 tall boxes:
Americana (back) Starship black (right) Collectors' lamp Midnight (left) Aurora - Spencers knockoff (front)
Lantern/Glitter Lite and Decorator are on top of two plain cartons
Toady is on a Spencers Custom Lava purple/yellow globe box
Row at far right front, against the wall, are on a Wave Machine box (rare test model, yellow "Wave" in pink top fluid)
Down front are a GemLite box from 1992, a Mystique Lava/GemLite box, and a wooden cigar box for a low riser.
