1998 faded blue/blue mathmos astro on aristocrat base

This is my first mathmos lamp. It lost about an inch and a half of liquid in shipping, but I topped it off with distilled water. I am absolutely amazed by the way this lamp flows, and by how vibrant the colors are. I can't capture it on video. I still have to get parts to rewire the base, but it is also of exceptional quality. The only problem is, now I want more mathmos lamps, and they are difficult to get in the US!

looks great!  i remember a time when you could order astro lamps and have them shipped to the US from electric planet.  it was good and bad because yeah, you could get an astro, but you paid through the nose for it!

Thanks every one. I just can't believe the quality of every part of this lamp! I think LL is improving their quality, but they definetly aren't where they were in the 90s. I would love to see them bring back US manufacturing. I wonder if they are still considering it, I sent them an email about it about a month ago, but they didn't answer. For now though, I have thrift store 90s LL. I also think they should let mathmos sell here (not sure if this is the reason why mathmos doesn't) they wouldn't compete with current LL prices, so it would be a completely separate market.

Is that really a faded blue / blue - i have one the exact same colour and i thought it was just a vilote / blue

I believe it is. The seller sold it as a faded blue/blue, and from what I found on here, some blue/ blues faded to this. Either way, I really like the color. It would be nice if mathmos would sell this color new,

This bottle is a magic! Out=blue/blue, on=pink,purple/blue! It is not the same like a blue/blue
