Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hello all! Just a gentle reminder to keep photos on this site lava lamp related. Mark (the owner and super mod) has limited bandwidth for photos, and that being said, we'd like to keep the photos in the pictures section related to this forum.

Also, when/if possible, re-size your pictures to reasonable size before posting (no 6MB photos please!).

If you would like to share your photography, please do so in a thread in the off-topic area of the forum:

https://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/categories/off-topic/listForCategory

Also, we do have a "pets" thread here:

https://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/goohead-pet-land

And a "show us your face" thread here:

https://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/lets-see-yer-face

Any questions, please feel free to ask! :)

Your criticism has been noted.

FWIW, these are private, non-eBay sales.

I believe Weebo will be putting his pics on a personal site from here forward.

I delete them shortly after uploading and a sale.

I did not know people are forced to see them.

Considering this I'll take down all my pics and the documentation that I posted.

I said I didn't want to offend you, I guess I did.

Sorry about that, but really: browsing the gallery and having to see tons of the same lamps pictures annoy me, so I had to say it here as the subject of this thread was to "not overcharge with pics".

(and yes people are forced to see all your pics when browsing the gallery)

Now if you want to remove ALL your pictures, that's your choice, not mine.

weebo please dont delete all your pics :(  i think its awesome that you offer your lamps for sale here to the group first.

I don't think Weebo is offended. He's pretty laid back. And his system works OK - show pics for a lamp that he's selling so a member can see them, then delete when the lamp is sold (maybe leave a few for show).

But yes, for the record, when someone uploads 20 pics, when you go to the Pics section of OozingGoo, you see them all there. They don't cover the main page though - just a thumbnail of a few of them.

I cleaned up what I could tonight. I'll clean up the rest later.

Sorry it annoyed members. Many people liked seeing what I had for sale.

In fact allot of people would ask me for them and I would find duplicates or find plenty others to offer.

In all my years it's never been an issue. Especially with the buy/sell/trade area.

My apologies.

I love Weebo's pictures, although they do tend to make me fire off a check in his direction.  :-)

Weebo takes pics of a lamp from every possible angle; full transparency.  What you see is what you get and he fully photo documents each lamp that he graciously offers up for grabs to the community.

Dittio on Weebo's pictures.

Instead of investing in a college fund for my children I'm buying lamps that they can look at while they live at home for the rest of their lives. They better return the favor of wiping my ass when I can't.

I don't know if the forum allows that or not. Mark Goo would have to answer that. I'm leaning towards thinking our forum doesn't though.

It's pretty easy to skip a page by clicking on the page number at the bottom too.

What I was considering was just posting the photo's in to a sell thread for a lamp.
Then deleting the thread when it's sold.

At that point the pictures never exist in the gallery and the space and pictures are deleted when the original poster removes their thread.

Oh and you don't really have to read the thread, so you don't have to see pictures you do not want to see.

That's a decent idea Weebo.
