Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

So, I was thinking I might need a goo kit??  Has anybody returned one of these to Sonic Electronics?  Any chance I might be able to get one of those clear goo kits from Magma?

bought both of mine from lava lamp.com and have had no trouble with both of them.

goo kits are expensive about 70.00 you could buy another for that price.

I'm looking at getting one too. I hope it's as good as some of you have had luck with. How long have you been able to keep yours running?

I've read about filtering...what size filter did you run?  did it have activated charcoal?  What is the best temperature to filter at?

Thanks,

Jethro

I have one for sale it is blue liquid with yellow lava and it is crystal clear for $50.00.

Check out this topic on filtering http://oozinggoo.ning.com/page/cloudy

The filter will need to be a ceramic filter with no carbon or active charcoal in it as this nutrolises some of the chemicals in the water and could affect the flow.

Filter when the lamp is cool (i.e. when it has been off and the wax is fully hardend)

The reccomended filter is a MSR filter, there is cheaper options but they have had poor revews regarding filtering globes.
