god anyone know a good site to link pics.. ever since photobucket screwed everyone i cabt find a site that shows the images vs just a link

Oh okay, yea imaggur and all those sites dont have [url] options like photobucket did.. and on top of photobucket wanting money now, so does img shack

thanks

Did someone redo that lamp, lava does not look normal?  Looks too translucent.  Might be just me, glad to hear you got it flowing again, enjoy!  Yeah, think they came out in red and green.  Think someone did one on here in blue.  Would be nice to own one, but have not come across one that was easily accessible and the right price.

You can also copy and paste images.  That's what I usually do.

That coach lantern wax looks like china wax.  The whole lamp could be one of those made after production move to china.  I think they made those up until a few years ago.  I would love to find a coach lantern from any era but cost and availability have prevented that so far!

Thays what i mentioned.  And no this lamp deff wasnt redone lol the person who had it was 73 years old and the original owner they sold it with the help of a friend because he was too old and he had lung cancer he said.  Lemme just say the 2 ppl i bought it from were kinda like old timers who live in a small farming town from 1800s.. This town was build in 1850..  I hate judging people but you know what i mean ? im 95% certain this person had no idea how to replace wax... Heck i had to show them where the sticker for the daye was they had no idea

Wax gets translucent ive seen if it gets hot too long..  Thats why i asked.. The wax is like clear jello almost..  It looks nothing and behaves nothing like my other lamp.  The wax is also like two shades lighter

Deff says 1975 with a old sticker that almost fell off i had to tape it back on.. the stickers on the baze where the globe sits are ancient as well and the felt is stamped 1975 barely and a little ruined from age.

I hear ya on china...  But i dunno... It behaves more like my china lamps..  But ive never seen chinese wax turn clear either... But i do know wax can get clear fron being on 24.7 for years..

Well here is my collection so far..  In 2 weeks ive managed to get these :).  The planter is clearly been redone but its so beautiful..  It does have the original wax i can tell its the same mint green color the yellow century has, but someone redid the liquid.  Kinda overfilled it so ima drain a tad out. And i guess you guys and me are unsure of the coachlight lanterns wax.  If its new wax i dont care, the globe and fixture itself are still 1975 original.

Anyway from left i have a 1977 Century Starlight, then the 1974 Enchantress Planter, and then the 1975 Coachlight, and then the 1971 Century  Starlight.

The 71 i purchased today for only 30$ !!!!  71 is like 2-3 years like right as they started this model right ?, i thought it was cloudy but the glass just had decades of finger prints and oil on it, some dilluted pinesol is really good to clean the globes and lamps with.  The base of this one says 1971 in two spots, and the cap is May 1971.  The liquid looks Gold.yellow and the wax is a minty green color

What do you guys think of my collection so far ? I have one more planter coming in the mail with a broken spring but ima fix that.  In all i paid $47 for the red century, $80 for the Planter, 50 for the coachlight and 30$ for the 71 yellow century

How rare is this 1971 Century ?  Its like a light teal blue/green wax in a yellow liquid.

NIce collection of vintage lamps

I have a pair of coach lights chromed by accident

they were supposed to be copper plated but work orders got twisted and ended up triple chromed

Still cool ,..and now one of a kind

Wow nice lol chroming is expensive even for little items i habe a Jeep Grand Wagoneer with alot of chrome and stainless steel and it can be hundreds to chrome something.

Yea im dissapointed in the planter..  The ad had like 10 pics of it running and it looked fine. but when i got it and ran it the wax has a lot water bubbles in it.. Im also thinming this lamp wasnt fixed by someone..  As the advertising pictures of the echantress planter with the green lava and green mist liquid looka identical to what i have..  So im not convinced keith is right on it being a redone lamp.

I just drained the liquid into a clewn container and added an inch if distilled water and boiled the lamp in a pot for like 40 minutes  This is how i was able to fix my brothers 2004 52 oz bottle when it had water bubbles in the wax.. His lamp looked ruined.. Cloudy wax looked like crap with hundreds of bubbles... Drained it. filled it with an inch or two of distilled and boiled it and then let it cool. drained the 2 incjes of water.. rinsed it with distilled and then filled it with distilled clear shampoo drops and a drop of salt water and it looks like brand new.

I hope this works on this lamp.   Btw do you have any idea what the white powder is in the wax ? i noticed some lamps even my chinese brand new lamps have this white powder in the wax.. The one im trying to fix has a lot of it
