Posts: 5 I have an older Continental Lava lamp, the type that is powered by a candle. I have had a accident with the candle globe or holder. Does anyone have any idea where I might find something like this? The top Lava part and the metal base are still in great shape

Posts: 697 I'd contact a glass blower - i know the people who would be repair and restore glass and produce identical glass parts but they are in england - if you could make a technical drawing of what you needed they would be happy to help you.
best wishes,
baby.

Posts: 5 The glass is clear or a little frosted and yes it is pineapple looking. And sorry there is not much left to the glass for the candle, so not much to take detailed measurements. I will keep looking for something to work. Thanks for the reply's

Posts: 110 I know it's a longshot, but you have nothing to lose. You should email Lava World asking if they have any extra bases in storage or know where you could get some. The email is: infomaster@lavaworld.com
Also, email Pam at End of the Rainbow. She has helped me find a few parts. The email is GIGOUS@aol.com

Posts: 697 This is so easy to repair: all you need is a v like shape piece of glass like a fliter funnel (with the hole for air circulation) turned upside down and a hole placed on the side of the glass. Calculate the diameter of the base where it would sit onto the metal stand and then calculate the diameter that it would sit on the bottle and take the design to a glass factory. It would cost peanuts to do.
on this timeline Jonas, Craig and i made up, you see a happy continental how it should be:

Posts: 697 I can put you in touch with the glass people if you wish, they are a tiny glass factory which specialises in producing glass for chemical labs and produce glass to exact dimensions. They also do antique restoration. A part like that could be sent in the mail and you can send them a technical drawing by mail. But there should be someone who does this stuff near you.
best wishes,
'baby.

Posts: 5 Thanks I sent email's to both lavaworld and End of the Rainbow for possible parts.
If I have to go the route of the glass maker can someone provide a couple of dimensions for me as I did not measure anything before I broke it.
The height of the glass candle?
The widest diameter part of the glass candle?
The top rim diameter of the glass candle?
The bottom diameter of the glass candle?
Thanks again for any help
