Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Previously unknown 1972 brass based Consort variety called The Executive.

Just when I thought I'd seen them all, another Consort variety pops up. This one is called the Executive (the same name as the wooden based pen holder Consort). The picture is from a 1972 gift catalog.

Has anyone seen one of these?

Look at those prices, $29.95 & $24.95 in 1972. They say, from 1972-2010, that the cost of living has increased by 5-10x on most items. They, in 1972, were paying anywhere between $125-$300 for those lamps, our money (2010).

Next to it is another unheard-of rarity - the COMMANDER, a Midnight Aristocrat!!

Awesome photo! I'd seen a page with the Commander before, but not this Executive. Saved!

There are also chrome ones with silver pedestals, and chrome ones with black woodgrain plastic pedestals (the silver ones may, one or the other or both, be the Nordic).

It seems that previously unknown vintage Consort varieties just keep popping up! I updated the "Consort Varieties" article in the Lava Library today to reflect this new variety.
