I just picked up my first two 32oz glitter lamps (both circa 2000 I believe) and one of them has a bulb where the bulb itself is mostly detached from the bulb's base.
Could someone tell me what the correct replacement bulb is?
Also, if anyone has any tips on getting the bulb base of the socket, that would also be appreciated.
Thanks!

If these are lava lite glitters, then the 32oz ones use 40 watt bulbs.
A LOT of 32oz lamps use 40 watt bulbs, but some do not. Can you take a picture of the lamp or bulb?
For the broken bulb, you might try pulling out the bulb part (very carefully, using a yardwork glove). Then you're going to have to unscrew the metal part that's left with needle-nose pliers. I've heard people say you can use half a potato, but I've not tried that...seems like it would drip too much water into the socket! LOL!
If it's a Lava Lite glitter, I wouldn't go 40W, I'd go 25W. Either way, they are the S11 intermediate style bulbs.
If you have some needle-nosed pliers, that can help you get the bulb out.
I would listen to Erin...I've never actually owned a 32oz lava lite glitter. ;)
Would that be the S11 bulb? This bulb as a smaller diameter base than the 40w bulbs used in the 32oz lava lamps.
Yes, that's correct - S11. They are called an intermediate bulb and the screw and overall bulb are smaller than a 40W appliance seen in Lava Lite lava lamps.
Apologies for my last post. I was responding to Loren's original response whilst the other two replies came in before I added my reply. O:)
Got the old base out with needle-nose pliers and a new 25W bulb in there now. I'm pretty sure the bulb I removed said 40W, so it will be interesting to compare the flow of the two. I've been thinking the one with the 40W bulb is a bit too active, so I might end up preferring the 25W bulb.
Thanks!
