Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I've tried to fix it myself but I must be doing something wrong. It doesn't have to be a trade.

What's wrong with it?

We need more details!  Like Jeff said, describe the issue and perhaps the steps you've already tried which failed. What do you mean by "It doesn't have to be a trade"? Also, you may want to state how you'd like things handled and what you're willing to do in order to make it worth someone's time and effort.  Hopefully you'll get the reply you're looking for, good luck!

Sorry. The wax has separated and I followed the instructions and couldn't fix it myself. What I mean by "It doesn't have to be a trade" is I would rather have the original globe rather than someone else's. The most I would like replaced is the coil and seal. Thank you to anyone willing to fix it for me.

Could you be a bit more specific, when the lamps warms up, does it ever flow fine or does all the wax immediately separate from the coil as it melts? Does the wax look ok and not cooked, bubbly, chunky etc, is it smooth and uniform? Also a few pics would help a bit.

I could look into it for you, i have brand new bottlecaps and a bench capper so sealing the globe is easy. Ive also got a few brand new springs around here that serve as coils. Have you tried letting the lamp run for a few hours and then pulling it off the base, let it sit on a table for about 5 min until the wax settles down then while still on a flat table you spin/twirl the globe while its standing up-right on the table. This may get the wax to join the coil again, its worked for me for some lamps but others needed new coils alltogether :/

I am probably the one that wrote the instructions you read on how to fix this issue. If you would rather me walk you through it then we could do that. Shipping a globe back and forth would cost as much as a new globe... My suggestion on the easiest way to do it is to find a CLEAN container and drain 90% of the liquid into it and run the lamp. That will force the wax to come back together.

^It would cost a bit to ship, but if it's a USA teal globe then you can't really just buy one at a store...

I have 2 for sale... I think. Maybe just 1. lol

The wax either sits at the top or stays at the bottom. It's also a bit chunky and is joined to the coil at the bottom.
