Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

After I have goo kitted 3 of my 32 oz midnite globes, one of them after it completely heats up, a  few blobs stay at the top all the time. when the bottom blobs come up,it pushes on the top blobs and pushes them to drop but there is always 2 or 3 blobs that still rest up top. Is this what they mean by the goo kits work better as far as flow goes for larger lamps? Is there any fix for this kind of flow problem or shall I dump it and start again? My other 2 lamps definatly dont have this kind of issue. Thanks for any info..

Hi Susan - good to see that you have been gookiting.

I am not too sure about gookits being better with larger lamps - I have used them on smaller lamps and they work fine but you need a dimmer on them. Gookited lamps run cooler so put a dimmer on the lamps and see what happens - it should be fine.

Hey Tim.. I do have a dimmer on it but maybe I need to turn it down some?? Im trying that now.. I think it might of been cranked to high. BTW.. capper and caps work great!! :)

Having a few blobs at the top of the lamp is normal. Having a lot of blobs at the top can mean the lamp is overheating. Can you post a pic so we can see what you're talking about?
