the guy that you posted the history to seems to bid on everything, that cannot be all of his bid history.
I was thinking those 2 lamps were vintage 70's models. WOW

Those lamps aren't from the 70s. They are from the 90s.
according to their cap codes, both are from '97

4***v was also bidding on the Vintage snake lava lamp safari series. It ended about 30 min ago and I forgot to see if they won it or not as well. The last time I checked, it was at $105.00

Something weird is going on here.
Look at the bid history:

A lamp like this should not be going for this much. I think we have some shill bidding going on here.
You'll know if it's shill bidding, when the item comes back up on the auction block. Usually the seller will have some excuse about the buyer not paying for the item.

I think we're going to have another weird one, but I can't tell. There's no such thing as a red/red, and the seller said the bottle cap reads #10 - a clear/red.

Bidders to watch out for appear to be:
.***z( 89) (also bid on the clear/red and the yellow/red Century)
.***a( 4 ) (also bid on the clear/black and the yellow/red Century)
4***v ( private ) (bid on both the clear/black and the clear/red)
And Matt, you're right, we'll see if these come up for auction again.
I'm the person that sold those lamps and I promise you all it was legitimate. I had 3-listed that day and the 03 went for much less. I had another 03 that sold 2 weeks before those for the same including the overseas shipping. These lamps have all been stored since around 2000 and were near perfect. I have 3 more going tonight and they are all much lower.
The best part was it allowed me to overpay for the Lava lamp desk lamp and the 32wg Wizard that went last week. My wife has wanted a multi-color glitter for a long time and I have a perfect place in my lava/game room for the lamp.
You gotta hate to love ebay. HA.
Whoa, those were legit? I just don't get it. I have some lamps I should put up for sale then!
I think my title with the variations must have helped, also good pics of the flow. I hate listings that don't show the flow when completely warmed up. Those listing had 150 plus hits and the highest selling one had 198 hits in a 10 day auction. I thought that was good, but these are the first lava lamps I've sold on ebay.
I also go to a lot of live autions and sometimes people just want something no matter what. Kinda crazy (and fun to watch) but what the hell. The buyer is happy and the seller is happy. It happened to me last week on the lava table lamp. Can't wait to get it.
