Hi Folks,
I was on the old forum but lost all my info. So time to start fresh.
I was reading here about the Goo Kits and was wondering.
My black Clear Grande arrived cloudy a few years bakc, and I tried all the techniques to clear it..... Cycling on and off, in a cool room etc. Nothing worked.
Would it be possible to purchase some of the Goo Kits surfactant and just replace the fluid leaving the black wax in the bottle? I really love this lamp but it's so cloudy it really is useless as is.
Thanks for the help.

I added tap water to mine and it actually flowed.

Might as well tinker around with it!
I dont think gookit surf will work in conjunction with LL wax. I don't recall when, but I do remember someone saying they tried it and made the wax bubbly. I would try Erin's technique or try Deb's with distilled and sea salt. http://oozinggoo.ning.com/photo/from-blue-yellow-to-clear-yellow-gr...
If neither works then gookit it ;)
I have replaced the fluid in both my grandes.. I used destilled water, sodium lauryl ether sulphate, and glycerin..
At first i just added some destilled water, making enough room so i could add some glycerin.. I turned the lamp on and waited for the wax to melt.. Ofcourse, with just plain water there were no flow at all, so now i began adding glycerin untill the wax began to rise.. When it just began to rise a little i added some sodium lauryl ether sulphate (SLES).. the SLES is the surfactant in the lamp.. I just added 50 ml right away, because that was what the gookit tutorial stated would be needed in a grande.. After this i added the last amount of glycerin needed for the best flow, and the result has turned out perfect for me.. Crystal clear lamp, and perfect flow..
I bought SLES on ebay ..
If you have trouble getting Glycerin, you can use Fog fluid instead as its basicly the same thing..
Can you tell me the ebayer that sells S:ES, I can't seem to find one that is liquid and with ether in the name.
Thanks

i think that 8 oz of glycerin should do it ..
and heres one that sells SLS, which can also be used just fine :)

More Glycol/Glycerine, possible more surfactant, although I would wait before adding surfactant. Glycol and Glycerine both have natural surfactant qualities.
