Any lamp is fair game now, not just the beatles and harley lamps. This thread has grown far beyond my expectations! 0.0
I really dont understand why these are always listed for ridiculous amounts. I see them all the time for $100 buy it now. I have a harley lamp and I want to sell it because I dont like it. Someone locally tried to sell me a beatles lamp for $100. Are these people nuts? Why do they all seem to list them for stupidly high prices?
Anyways I thought it would be fun to see who can find the most over priced harley davidson or beatles submarine lamp.
I am setting the bar really high.

Doesn’t it say “1 of 4” at the bottom of those??
YEah but that is the # in the series, not the amount made
I have seen some high priced Mathmos Lunars before but none were even close to this crazy price!

That's $5,775 USD!!
I was watching Bones and just couldn't believe that was what it went for.
Wow, it's hard to believe that there is a buyer willing to pay that much for an Icon lamp!
Why would anyone pay that much when you can commonly find the same Icon lamps on Ebay for considerably less?
Maybe that was an auction for charity or something?
I own all 18 Icons with boxes and the most I had to spend for one was $400
I think something funny might be going on and those are not really legitimate bids.
Ebay is full of people that like to play games!
Halloween themed I guess

I have to disagree and agree here with prices being so high for some lamps. It's getting harder and harder to find older lava lamps and the younger generation like some of us older collectors want to collect or get a piece of the vintage lava pie and are willing to pay more these days. I've noticed older working lamps are geting harder to find so prices should go up. It's the whole idea when collecting. Buy today and hope the value will skyrocket later and for some lamps that is what we're now seeing so if you have a collection of older working lamps in good to excellent condition you should expect to get a lot more foryour lamp when you go to sell. Take for instance the ICON PUMKIN LavaLite Lamp. several years ago it was as common on ebay to find as a spare tire then a couple of years ago they all but vanished and now your seeing prices like 300-500 US dollars and guess what - there are buyers willing to pay the price to get their hands on a rare lamp to add to thier collection and you can bet the price will continue to increase due to scarcity. Then there are lamps we as collectors know are not worth much more than the wax in the lamp yet see prices that are outrageous...these are just sellers testing the market or hoping to get lucky and some will get lucky and sell the lamp to some unknown buyer who was to lazy to do some homework. There are also buyers who could care less abouot the price and just like something about the lamp and willing to pay the pricce. I've been guilty here. For those of you who collect and have a worthy collection...rejoice in the fact that you see lamps going for outrageous prices and you yourself should expect big bucks down the road since LAVALITE does not seem to care about creating new and exciting lava lamps anymore. When was the last time anyone here got excited over a lamp that LavaLite released since the Lunar Phases lamp which sold out in record time? Even SPENCERS appears to be bored of lavaLite and now only carries a few that pretty much focusess on cheap graphic wraps versus new shapes , colors and sizes. The next wave of expensive lamps is going to be the Giants and Grandes. All elements including wax has skyrocketed as of late so expect to pay a lot for a decent running Grandes. since LavaLite no longer sells the 27'' lamp. NOTE -The Grande Glitter lamps are impossible to find on the market so expect to pay twice as much for a glitter Grande. If you can buy a Grande under 150 shipping included buy it now. LavaLite from what I've gathered has no plans in the near future to bring them back. Shipping alone due to shipping cost going crazy would have to be close to 75.00 or 100 due to weight and size to ship these large babies. The days of free shipping for the size of lamp are long gone. Embrace your Grande today and be lucky you have one or several in your collection. Giants should Fetch upwards 100 or more than a Grande due to rarity. Be thrilled when you see a lamp for a lot of money and even more happy when you see it sell. That is unless you collect and don't want to pay asking price. I feel your pain.
Cough...cough the Garfield was my lamp haha. I compared back to some that recently sold before I listed it. The last two both sold for right at and a little over 200. I cannot believe the prices some of them are going for but as has been said they are no longer made. I am just wanting some extra xmas money and pairing down the collection to narrow in on my core set of lamps that I want to keep.
