scored this purple/pink premier for 5 frickin' dollars on ebay! $7.55 for shipping so $12.55 overall! super excited! i haven't had one of these before, what can you guys tell me about it? what are some things i can expect or need to look out for? i've been digging on google images trying to find a picture of one of these lit up, but can't seem to. what color should i expect when lit? i'm figuring the whole thing just goes pink, which i wouldn't mind, but i'm hoping it's not dark like the blue liquid/purple wax ones. i bought one of those from target and HATED it. i like a bright lamp. super excited about this one tho! lady must not have known what she could charge for it. also, it looks pretty good! i looked over the pictures thoroughly before buying and even the base looks new. seems to have been well taken care of!

i guess i am just going to give it time and keep running it before i decide anything. i really wanna save it, but don't wanna screw it up either. and yeah, i thought about that and was a little nervous when i added the water because i thought it may not flow again, but it's flowing like a champ after, so it's all good!
The colors of the cold lamp are very nice, they compliment perfectly. You should post a picture of it running, would love to see it in action!
It may clear up as you run it, like others have said. I just picked up a purple/clear Century that has a slight haze to the fluid but after the second run it seems to have cleared up a little bit. China lamps are odd. Some look crystal clear when cold but once the light refracts through the fluid from under the wax, it changes completely.
Interesting, that looks opposite of the images that start your thread! Are they your images, of the lamp cold, or are they the ones that were part of the auction? It got a jostle in transit for sure.
Katadyn makes the filters that people have used to clear globes. They can be expensive and if I remember correctly it cannot contain activated carbon as this strips the sufactant properties from the fluid. A ceramic filter is what you would need, like this one. A peace of mind investment if you plan on diving deep into lavadom, China especially
