I have made new recipe for motion lamps that adds a 21st century twist to them AND brings back the nostalgic 'flow' that seems to be missed by many connoisseurs of the lava lamp. I have launched the project via kickstarter to make this happen. Right now I have to buy the bottle from China, but the actual formulation and installation will be done here in the USA and I NEVER plan to give that to China. In fact, I hope to get event he bottles made in the USA one day!
Please check out my kickstarter below!

I've been working really hard on this project for 3 years. I actually have a few random members and informative posts from oozing goo to thank for helping me make this happen!

Oh wow!! You just one-upped the previously funded Fluxx Design Labs Kickstarter, big time! This will get interesting. I want to back this for the lamp level so bad, I hope to throw my hat in once funding gets approved by my accounting team, haha ;)
Depending on ambient temperatures and run times it can make it all the way to the top. The day we were filming it was very cold and we were filming in a studio that was barely heated so you probably notice it only goes about 3/4 in the video. You probably also noticed a few people in the video wearing jackets and hats, too lol
outstanding, i will definitely get one of those once the product is actually available
would like to even fund the lamp, same situation here as you described so eloquently ,VOXul!
Yes, it does look like the same unit.

Isn't this lamp the same unit? Yours just being filled with ferrofluid.

Thanks
This is cool, how does the ferrofluid move like lava in that lamp?
The ferrofluid operates on the very same principles as the wax in a lava lamp. It's density changes with temperature.

Wows thats pretty amazing! We may have to change our names from gooheads to ferroheads lol
What did you use to color the fluid gold? I wonder if that dye would work on wax :)
I can't go into exactly how I colored it, but it may work on wax. I will have to verify that, though. Perhaps after the kickstarter I can look into it. Seen as I don't really have any interest in selling traditional motion lamps, there may be a way I can transfer that technology over to somebody that wants to apply it to traditional motion lamps ;)
Yes, I would love to know a method that allows color shift/powder glitter/glow dust/metallic to disperse itself evenly into wax as it flows, not sit stagnant at the bottom.
Exactly Vox! lol And thank you k-nano! We look forward to hearing more about your ferrofluid motion lamps! You definitely came to the right place :)
