Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi.

I just got 2 Grande's and in one, the wax is wrecked so I'm going to redo the whole thing. After browsing the forum it looks like doing a fluorescent lamp would look pretty killer, and i'll be ordering a goo kit, but I have a few questions

1. How do you add the dye while the wax is flowing? Does the wax just soak up the dye over time as you add it drop by drop?

2. What is your opinion on the health hazard of having a black-light operating in your room more often than not? (4-6 hours at a time every couple of days)

3. Will the UV light from the black-light negatively affect other lamps in the room (since they go cloudy when exposed to direct sunlight)

Thanks
