Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

This was the 5th quart of goo I've tried to run in this grande. Magma Tower keeps sending me a new quart of goo. Five times. And that's just the ones that went to the correct address. I have like 6 quarts sitting over here marked "BAD". Want to see what happened this last time?

Yes, that was running for 17 straight hours. Just like every other time. And look what it's doing...also just like every other time. I see people post their beautiful new goo kitted grandes here often, and I just want to scream. Obviously Magma Tower loves you, and hates me. :(

lol I just dont get it, even when I have bad goo it still flows. Loren your using distilled water right? Also try wrapping the globe in a towel to keep it warmer then it normally is maybe that'll get it flowing or keep it running next to a bunch of other lamps.

I also tried a "regular" 100 watt bulb with a grande.  The base got very hot indeed, the wax melted but didn't flow, not enough heat was directed to the globe.  With the right bulb it flows good.  I don't know if there is any way to move the socket inside the globe but if you can try to set it at 1/4 inch from the globe.  You might also try making an inverted cone out of foil to direct more heat to the globe.  Not sure if any of this will help since it may indeed be bad wax but since the wax isn't melting it shouldn't hurt.

It's one of the reflector bulbs. :( It's not clear, it's frosted, but it's a 100w reflector bulb. Sigh... :( The base is really HOT though! After 17 hours, it burned me to touch it. If it's getting that hot, then why isn't that hot enough?
