Gel Wax / Paraffin Lamp Oil

Sorry to bug ya'all again,

     *Has anyone experimented with the Clear Gel Wax?   I've seen candles made of it, I like the way it is still translucent even when color is added.

     *Also, has anyone tried using Paraffin Lamp Oil in place of Perc,,,,, somewhere I read someone using kerosene and or turpentine, ,,,, ?

Just kicking things around to play with untill I get a Kit. Winters are to long in KS and I like doing things from scratch.
