I'm looking to pick up a 70s Electro-Match. Preferably not the bright yellow one on eBay. I've seen them in black, white, yellow, orange, red, green, blue, peach and avocado (shown). Hoping to find any color but yellow.
For those who aren't sure, in the 60s and 70s a California company called Korex imported these. They're spherical, with a five-legged metal foot. The user fills the inner reservoir with lighter fluid, and the tip of the metal wand has a wick in it. The unit takes batteries, and when the wand is pulled out of the base, upon exiting it brushes across contacts that spark. So as soon as you pull out the wand, there's a flame on the end! Some versions had a button on the wand; you have to push it to dip the wick, hold it down while you pull it, and when you're done lighting, release the button and it retracts the wick, putting out the flame. I like both models equally.
Anyone have one of these, for sale or (preferably) trade, in working order? There were also some cut crystal/glass ones, cylindrical and boxy ones, a smoked acrylic one, and one in an ashtray, none of which appeal to me like the plastic sphere.
