Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

I bought a 50th anniversary Grande directly from LL first part of Aug 2015.

It got here cloudy as hell. Sent them pics.

Email back and forth

They are sending a replacement. They say that shipping is causing the cloudiness .

Get second one. Its cloudy as shit too. Ok now what is up ?

Email number 2 Grande pics. They say they are talking to quality dept.

Get email, they are sending a 3rd replacement 2nd day air.

Get 3rd one.

Cloudy just like number 1 and number 2

Now it looks like a LL defective product warehouse in my house

Remember what it says on their own site about cloudy lamps and what causes it ?

"the only reason the globe will become cloudy is if the Lava Lamp has been shaken, stirred, moved, dropped, or caught in an earthquake while the blobs are warm"

Im pretty damn confident that they are not warmed up at the place of manufacture (  china ? ) and if so, i doubt that someone there is shaking them violently before they cool down.

NOW IM WONDERING IF THIS SHIT IS COMING FROM CHINA AND NOT MADE IN ILLINOIS

During this time span, i go to Spencers and buy a 32oz and a 52oz, both CRYSTAL CLEAR

Ok, i know Spencers don't make them on site and the LL's they sell have to endured shipping.

So, i can only conclude that there is a massive quality issue with the 50th Grande at the bare minimum.

Consider this - 100% failure rate. Clearly shipping IS NOT THE ISSUE.

How  could LL let something like this happen on THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION ?

I guess quality control is NON EXISTENT .

Sent them pics of all 3 Grandes in a row cloudy.

Also sent them pics of the 2 i bought at Spencers that are CRYSTAL CLEAR.

Waiting for reply.

I guess i am going to need 3 goo kits for the Grandes that i have that are cloudy beyond belief.

Not that i wanted 3 of them, JUST 1 is all i wanted. And to think i paid $30 more than the regular price of a Grande because its the 50th edition .

I have never used a Goo Kit but it can't possible be any worse than what LL has done.

Im convinced that there is some kind of leaching or chemical reaction going on inside the globes after filling and packing that they don't know about

.

Their customer service is STELLAR but something very bad is going on with their manufacturing process right now. MY GOD, you would think after 2 cloudy ones, they would go to quality and ask WTF is going on ?

I will update with what they say on the 3rd 50th Grande.

Moral of this story - If you can't see it CLEAR before you buy it, get it from somewhere that you CAN

100% failure rate ? Seriously ? They better get their shit together because this kind of shit is what KILLS companies.

So if you have made it to the end of this post, what are your thoughts on Goo Kits for Grande's ?

Any experience using Goo Kit and your good and bad results ?

Anyone that has experience with LL knows that their quality sucks.

Search this site and you will find MANY posts like yours.

They stopped making quality stuff after 2000 when they moved all their production to China.

You have to be pretty lucky to find a decent new LL lamp these days.

Shipping during the summer when it is hot outside greatly increases your chances of receiving a cloudy lamp.

You can always refill cloudy globes with goo kits or custom glitter.

1 goo kit is enough for one Grande - http://oozinggoo.ning.com/group/gookitconversions

This is my first experience with LL and certainly my last.

At this point, i think they need to refund me my $119 as clearly they can't produce a clear lamp for me.

I'm just wondering why you feel it is necessary to drop the F-bomb and S-bomb so many times. It truly shows a lack of class and to me it is offensive. You can certainly get your point across without all the profanity...

There is supposed to be moderation policy that deals with this:

Thanks.

So yeah, Lava's have problems when shipped.  A lot of us here won't order in warmer weather because of the possibility/probability of cloudiness.  They also don't ship well individually.  Spencer's (and other stores) receives pallet lots so they don't have the same cloudiness issues.  Hopefully cooler weather will bring better shipping results.

Oh, and F-bombs do take away from the focus of the post, as well as being impolite.

Yeah, you should probably find a different sight... There's really no need to be rude, everyone has their own preferences and if you can't be polite and respectful about it, that's fine, just go somewhere else :D or be respectful. It's really not that difficult.

LOL -  It sounds like the name you picked fits you well.

There are many members here that are not politically correct but we are not a**holes about it like you!

What a bunch of pussies here!

If that really offends you guys as claimed, then maybe you should just stay in your parent's basements, and never interact with modern society.

LOL!!

This is a classic example of a 12 year old's idea of what adults talk like.
