Its been a while since I was last on here. I have been going through a lot in my personal life. Anyway, I got both colors of the heritage grande for Christmas, and the first run was absolutely incredible, as was the second and third. On the fourth run, they started really bubbly, and then started the peashooter thing (they look just like Joanne's). I am very disappointed that they don't last. I will be contacting lava lite. If they wont do anything, at least the glass bottle is flawless. If I had the money, I would love to fill them with mathmos contents. Check out this video of a grande with mathmos contents, its not mine but I wish it was: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSTLDi-s17Y

Daaaamn, that mathmos-filled lamp is insane.

Good thing you did dive in there, Jo.  I was reading a book and got distracted, and forgot about the one less coil too.   LOL   And I don't even have a V2.  Two Great Minds, or two insomniacs...........

When the Heritage Neon Green or Pink Grandes came out in late October they apparently sold out.  We call those first ones, Version 1 or V1.   They made more and made some changes, as in moving the bulb up closer to the globe and I have no idea if they messed with the formula or not, but we call them Version 2 or V2.   Unless they've come out with a Version 3, which I haven't heard anything about, you'd get a Version 2 if you order now.

What do you mean V1 or V2?

The Grandes are hit and miss. Most people seem to like them, but we have a few members who have flecks in the lava (including me).

Most of us didn't get the Wizards and or Centuries, but the ones who did were kinda "meh" on them. I returned my Century and dumped the Wizard globe. The flow is boring. The bases and caps are decent quality.

Hope that helps. The only ones I would consider buying are the Grandes and know that they are already on version 2 of those.

Again, rather than going through a ridiculously long thread, whats the general consensus on these. I'm just starting to get back into the lava game and last I checked everything LavaLite/LavaWorld, whatever they're going by now a days, was crap a few years ago. Are these at least decent?

What blows my mind, is that they need to tinker with everything. They had the formula and science correct in the 90s. Don't fix it if it's not broken. @Joanne & Marley's Ghost thanks for clearing that up.

LoL Your welcome Doug

The flecks of crap seem to be multiplying :(

Wow, that sucks Jeff. I'm guessing mine's headed that direction, too.

Oh no........I'm afraid to check mine, but I've not been able to run either for a couple of weeks or more.  Too cold in the house.

Only my Green appeared to be getting some sort of gunk in the large coil.   So far.............

My v2 is still crap free, for now. My v1 is a different story though, but I don't think they're multiplying in the v1... I hope not at least.

Both mine are V1's, and only the Green had "something" starting to accumulate in the coil.  I hope it stays that way and does not get into the flow.   The Pink is still "gunk" free......

Yes it does...I really got a good look at the coils the other day when it did that coil flip and the small one is just loaded with crap.  Maybe they had a problem w/ the run of small coils (hence their removal in v2??) they used?  It has to be corrosion of the coil itself...what else could it be?

I dunno if I should contact Susan or just live with it.
