I have no problems with the temp being too cold since I'm in Miami and the ac has to keep working to stay at 74 during the day, sometimes more on the 76F side so they usually get flowing without a problem, the 2.0 definitely has different flow but not radically, it's just not as cluttered and crazy at times since the globe was less wax, other than that the flow stretches and snakes in the same way as the first gen. I feel like the 2.0 runs with less power, once warmed up for 6+ hours it can be dimmed more than the first gen which likes to run full blast endlessly.

lol i should really read what i type before i post. i said tomorrow twice! 70 is nice and chilly...right LOL. that reminds me, time to plug in my grande to see if i can get it flowing. i purchased a space heater because, oddly enough, the lamps won't heat the room much when it's in the 20's outside.
well now my neon green grande won't flow at all. it's been on for 12 hours and it's only spiked halfway. the bulb is about 1" away from the bottom of the globe, so i think that may be the problem. anyone know if LL is replacing lamps due to this issue?
Brad, mine has never stopped flowing, but takes 8 to 12 hours to start flowing. I've had to wrap both my original Heritage Neon Grandes in towels to keep them flowing if the temp in the house dropped.
A 1" socket extender works wonders, but that's beside the point. We shouldn't have to be doing all this "tweaking" on these lamps. The version 2 Grandes have the bulb raised right up to nearly the bottom of the globe now, so LL obviously knows about that issue.
Let us know how that works...I might try contacting LL for a new base if it works out good. I love the flow in my 1.0 but it takes so damn long to warm up and get going. And my room temp isn't cold either, its typically 73 or higher.
i gotta quit looking at these threads it makes me want MORE (just ordered couple more grandees, can't help myself)
I didn't know you had a 2.0 Ben. I got tired of wrapping mine in their blankets, and Kirk put the socket extender back in his, and they are working perfectly. So, I followed his lead and put them back in mine too. Working like a charm so far. By this time it would barely be spiking. It's 68 in the house right now and without the socket extenders, the blankets would be on both of them.
Blue or Purple would be lovely, but I'm partial to blue. ;-)
