Mathmos telstar and astro-Baby How to keep them clean

Hi, I have a few telstars The early ones from 1990's to the 2000's I have great trouble cleaning the legs so they won't tanish. I have one that has tanished and needs a good clean. Is there anything in the uk that is recomended. I don't know if silvo will work but don't want to try it if it will make the lamp look worse. Also has anyone managed to get the astro-baby staying clean without marks.
