"hey you need a speical filer to repair this it might be cheaper to just replace bottle if wax isnt flowing as cloudy then looks like wax might had its day great lamp the mathmos lunar and rare now nice polish be good as new."

"look like dye to me i had the same on alot bottle just give them a good run as opening the bottles will void your 2 year manufacting to return. if not happy they easy swap if you contact them well in the uk they been very helpful with bad bottles…"

"The vinyl astro is staying as mathmos say it will be in its complete range normally the sticker is on the base and the box for the first editions not sure if it's on the cap though it's always been at the base of the lamp these sold out so…"

"Your welcome also I use the 40w r39 reflector bulbs but like you say they are hard to get hold off, I always keep soke fuses as I had same issue with a old telstsr before glad you got it in working order again thanks john "

"You can use these plug in adapter have you changed your fuse as seems odd when your socket keep blowing unless something tripping out like short circuiting another think you can do and will work is to get a old astro baby base and swap the new cord…"

My First Lava Lamp was:
I bought a mathmos jet in 1997 then fludium until now I have collected
36 lava lamps in my collection. I like collectiong cool colours which look odd but then cool. Mathmos is the best. I have a Astro Metallic Red/ Glitterball green/Glitterbaby yellow. Would like to get a lunar And a astro flock as these are great mathmos lamps.

Hi John.
Yes I need a heat shield. When I use a bulb without reflector i must use a heat shield. The blue bulb have no reflector. But when i use a bulb with reflector i don´t need the heatshield.

Hi John. Nice collection of lamps, you currently only have 35 more than me! Although, in reality, it's probably closer to 36 more as I think mine's dead.The old 'wax sticking to the sides' problem has occurred after years of inactivity and I've been unable to sort it out. Going to have to replace it with loads of new lamps!
