"Your welcome also I use the 40w r39 reflector bulbs but like you say they are hard to get hold off, I always keep soke fuses as I had same issue with a old telstsr before glad you got it in working order again thanks john "

"You can use these plug in adapter have you changed your fuse as seems odd when your socket keep blowing unless something tripping out like short circuiting another think you can do and will work is to get a old astro baby base and swap the new cord…"

But after some great advice on here I managed to track down the correct type.I finally got it working nicely, and was pretty chuffed with it only for the socket to go pop one morning when I turned it on...
