Hello all, I'm new to this site but I'm quite fond of lava lamps. I love the one lava lamp I have, a floor lava lamp my father bought for my room from a Walmart, I think, in 2003-2004. It broke during a house-move in 2006; the black cap that topped the lava lamp, the actual light switch, and the metal ring that secured the top shade to the lamp are all missing. There is also a metal-looking spring loose in the wax, which worries me because that's the one thing on the lamp I don't know how to fix.
All this has rendered the whole lamp unusable but I've been holding onto it hoping to either fix it or use it as a reference to find a replacement. If I can't fix it, would love to get another one but I can't find infornation or sales of it online (which would make sense since due to it's age). I've tried Amazon and Ebay but I can't locate it anywhere.
It's a black torchiere floor lamp about 6 ft. tall, and the lava lamp (purple liquid, red wax) is within the lightpole in its own base, with one arm bending around the lava lamp to attach the lightpole to the top (is this the torchiere part?) light. The switch can turn either the lava lamp or the top lamp on, or both at the same time.
If any of you know the brand- or even better, have a link to a place that sells one, used or not- I would very much appreciate it. Thank you in advance <3

Here you go..it's my original post..and Dr.What and Jonas Clark-Elliot help me out with response to my info. I ended up opening mine too and tweaking it..very easy to tweak and great results..check out my photos. Good Luck! As far as parts..good luck there..would think it would be easier to check on craigslist..I see quite a few here in Texas pop up from time to time. Actually, could have picked up 5 of them on one sell. But these were the floor lamps with just the lava lamp on top..no Torchiere above the lava lamp. Good luck again!

Did you ever get your lamp problem solved?
I have four of them and would not mind parting with one.
