Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi,

I just received a Crestworth Telstar.

This lamp doesn't have the usual T shape black plastic bottle cap, but a normal white plastic cap.

I doubt this is original, even if there is a Mathmos sticker on it.

What do you think?

Thanks

The differences between a chrome Crestworth Telstar and the Rocket base is:

- the Telstar has a smaller "step" at the bottom of the base, whereas the step on the Rocket is taller.

- the Telstars use a bayonet fitting, the Rockets use a screw fitting

- the original Telstar bottles had a T cap, the Rocket's came with a plastic jet lid (as shown in the photo).

The "step looks the same to me.

My chrome base has a screw fitting.

To return of the subjet of this post (the Copper Telstar).

anyone have an idea about the sticker with the number on it? (shown on the picture)

the sticker is most likely the lamp ( cap / base ) production number, or poss bottle number, years ago when u wanted to get a refill number, as in have the fluid or both master fluid and solid (wax) when u filled in the refill order sheet it would ask for a number which that would be the stick, crestworth used to keep records of the numbers
