Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Hi everyone!

I searched for instructions on how to rewire my Mathmos Telstar and though I found Astro rewiring help, no such luck for my lamp.
I moved to Califormia from England a few years ago and have been faffing around and procrastinating when it comes to certain things -one of these things is sorting out my lamp so I can actually use it again!

Could someone give me some advice please? Or better yet, link me to a step by step tutorial?!

Thank you in advance!

How did you loosen the light cord from the bottom on the Telstar base?  I accidently unscrewed the light bulb socket when attempting to change the bulb and now the wires from the cord and the socket are disconnected.

We have a guide in our Lava Library showing how to do various conversions. The same concepts used to rewire jets and astrobaby's should work.

Thanks for the link but the Telstar is assembled a little different.  Below the socket there is a locking washer which I was able to remove but below that it appears that the treaded rod going out the bottom is sealed in place.  It’s not a traditional nut.  I keep turning the strain relief underneath the base where the light cord goes in but it won’t unscrew.
