Wave machine fluid recipes

Hello everyone, I have searched the forum here and found several posts from people asking about recipes for the two liquids that go inside of a wave machine. I’ve seen that essentially the most common mixture that people have been making is just mineral oil and filtered water with food coloring. Does anyone have any other recipes or suggestions that they could share? The mineral oil and water combination looks OK, but not quite like the original. I know there is a company out there that sells the refill kits, trying to save some money and make my own. I know it will not be as good as ordering a refill kit , but I wanted to see what other people have come up with that they would be willing to share. 

Any other oils or combinations?

When I was a kid I used paint thinner and baby oil and it worked and looked the same if I'm not mistaken. I used a magic marker for the dye.  It never faded and it flowed beautifully.
