Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

i have a crestworth comming with uk wiring. i know its easy to rewire them but id rather it be completely original but i read somewhere that the converter/transfromer things will not allow the lamp to get hot enough to flow. is this true?

I will post pics when I get home, but the Crestworth should be a breeze to rewire and you should be able to quickly swap back to UK wiring without anyone knowing.  I have both a Crestworth Astro and Astro Mini dismantled at home and they are extremely user friendly to rewire.  I think I may have even posted a discussion or pic of the innards of a Crestworth Astro so you can see whats lurking inside.

Bought a up converter on eBay, this one was 500 watts. It has a US outlet and a UK outlet.  This unit increases voltage so all you have to do is plug it in with original wiring.  Lamps work great and flow well.

okay, thanks for the info. its a coach so is it as easy to rewire as an astro?  ill check out some converters too.

The only issue I have with going the converter route is that you are still stuck ordering UK bulbs.  That and the converter is a rather large "brick" of a device.  I may have a converter for sale as I also plan to rewire my Smart Astros.
