has anyone polished a starship before? i'm considering this project over the winter and wanted to see if anyone had any tips.
I haven't Brad. Sounds cool. I thought about getting one to custom paint.

I have a rocket ship lava lamp that is black on the outside and the inside is clear with violet goo!! If you would like to see it look at my photos! Thanks

I'm not sure about a higher watt S11N bulb but I took mine apart and adjusted the height of the socket but the plastic cord protectors on the bottom break easy so you have to be careful of those but other than that it was easy to adjust the height. Analog.
I use these 60w bulbs in wizard / starship bases that I need more heat on:
