Hey, if that works and they look better, good that you figured out a workable set up.
well some of my lamps look good in the dark like anything with clear liquid/colored wax or the glitters. but some i cant see the liquid colors well at night. maybe its just me lol. ive back lit them with a very soft white frosted bulb in a lamp that sits behind my entertainment center on the floor ( in a corner and on tile so no fire hazards) it just very softly aluminates the lamps from behind so i can see the liquid colors much better. nothing bright or harsh.
Actually, I only run mine at night. I think they look better. Not so much during the day. I have some regular lamps with colored bulbs in them to mood light and supplement for ambient light. But no white light.
so i realized something last night...my lamps looks so much better in the day than when running than they do running at night with all the lights off...(has anyone els noticed this?) call my stupid but they just do. so i decided to back light them form behind and now they look amazing at night! does any one backlight or use any kind of lighting on their lamps at night?
well i mean in the dark.
its stunning with the lights on...but with them off not so much :-/
