Something Interesting About Me:: I was born in 1960 and have grown up around lavas but I really didn't appreciate their Malachi until around the mid 90s when I saw an original at the thrift store for 2.98. It was then I realized that the reason I wasn't interested in them for the most of the past was because they weren't the same as they were in the sixties because of the u.s.outlawing the original fluid and China started the manufacturing. These lamps were not only a shadow of the originals but much smaller which effected lava flow = less showy less I teresti certainly not demeaning the mods. but prefer the ole dinosaurs for their performance and u.s.linage.Other interests include reptiles( 4 ft Python) cats( currently at 9,& yes I've heard all the cat lady jokes,so spare me.)making fine jewelry,gemstones,Music( producing as well as exploring in addition to just enjoying,driving my sports car and just kicking back.I have severe Rheumatoid disorder ,which is a disease that turns my immune system on to me destroying internal organs,nerves,joints .This progressively worsens as time goes by which makes it harder everyday to eat,sleep,breathe,pick things up,walk,dress myself,drive my car and yes even turn on my lava lamp.So I'm trying to get as much living out of these years I have left to enjoy something as simple and wonderful as a lava lamp among other things.

My Collection Includes this many Lava Lamps:: 2 60 models one broken( needs new cap & water)one drained last nite after cat knocked it down.

My Favorite Lava Lamp is:: My red lava w/ clear h2o and gold pierced brace circa 1969

Pickling salt solution changes the specific gravity of the solution (usually distilled water) and gives the lava float-a-bility
