glad you are getting a replacement, jo.  i was wondering since i went to look for the post you made with the cracked globe but could not find it :)

we should get susan something for christmas (or the holidays, whatever) for her troubles.  it's not like she caused these issues personally - she's just having to deal with them.  i'm game for sending one!

Damn lala, thats a shame. Regardless of whats going on in the company she should keep it straight since not every customer is aware of other customer's returns and bad lamps, but im sure it also gets frustrating having to return or replace so many lamps because of poor quality control. Some bases didnt even light up and the whole century thing..

I would NOT want Susan's job . I dont do well with having to fix stuff that goes wrong all day. It would be a total struggle to be 'nice' all the time ! I also understand its her job to be nice ( i just couldnt do it LOL ) I am just grateful we deal with a company that will 'allow' their customer service rep to make things right , some companies dont allow it at all and 'punish' their employees if they do fix obvious wrongs .

What do you mean lala?? What did she say?

I'm glad you got at least one working lamp Joanne, and it's so weird that the base won't light up! It could be the socket or the dimmer.. A voltmeter would tell the truth but at least Susan is replacing a whole one and you can use the contents for transplants!

Great news about the replacement, Jo!!   Susan and LL always take care of us, Thank Heavens!!!

Update: Both thawed out , checked em over from top to bottom. Pink looks good , put it on the base and wont turn on , tried other bulb  nothing , tried the stand from the green box and BINGO , we have light !!!

the green one has defects around the top by the cap that look like the glass was 'twisted' when they made the globe . In those defects there are 4 or 5 cracks that go all the way to the inside

SO 1 fully functional lamp out of all of this really is pretty good i think, its better than i thought i was going to have .

Susan emailed me today and thank God LL is so good with their customer service ! I will be getting a replacement !
