Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

It went 'pop' when i tried to switch it on. It needs a good looking at. Usually works very well

I THINK (I'm not certain) that this is a UK knockoff of a Creators' lamp. It has a number of details that lead me to that conclusion, I have a great deal of familiarity with Creators' lamps. If so, then it's rarer. You might look up under the inner top (where the drop nozzles are) or in the bulb well, INSIDE the top (after removing the cover) or under the base for a label. Wiring connections to check are both inside the base (where wires attach to the pump and branch off for the light) and inside the top, where the light is wired.

I assume you use only mineral oil? In the US, these are commonly found in junk shops gummed up (from the use of baby oil, cooking or olive oil, glycerin, etc.) or shorted out (when someone used water).
