It was interesting to see, it all kind of started orbiting around a center piece of glitter and slowly ascended to the top.

It was very cool watching it too.  As it cooled down a few flecks of glitter would break away but the majority of them stayed as a group and slowly floated to the top. 

HAHA you have the right idea Pete, it is a Galileo thermometer!
