Quite an early example of an Astro lamp, with a solid copper two-part base and cap, hand blown crystal glass bottle and oil filling.

Should restore well.

You must get pictures etc so others and me can see how it fits together, and well done grrrrr for getting the lamp :-)

Cheers John, I've checked the patent to see how it's assembled and it's quite simple. I've managed to remove the copper cap by softening the glue with a heat gun. That revealed two steel plates sandwiching a rubber O ring tightly in the neck of the bottle. I loosened the bolt and they came apart and could then be lifted out.

thats a nice find, is there anything on the orig patents showing the inner cap set up
