Lamp base is a Lava Lite China from Autumn's watermelon Neon (she only wanted the globe and cap). Globe is a 1984 Century - same as the cap. The contents are from Loren.
Drilled pinholes and painted - it turned out really cool! The paint is textured and has little glitter pieces in it. Subtle, but neat up close.
It doesn't have a footed base - it's just sitting on a candle holder until it properly cures. :)
NOW! What color to dye the liquid? Keeping it clear is not an option!

Lime green would be a cool color to dye it
Love those textured paints. I found a green one while back but never saw it again :-(
I think Magenta sounds like a very nice color too, Erin!! I am still in awe of your base!!
Magenta sounds great!
Thanks for the compliment Libby. I'm pleased! Messing around with it in Photoshop to try out colors. I'd like to do a magenta...
Seriously, this paint I used was AWESOME. I'll have to go find out what it was. I'm pretty sure it's this stuff: http://www.rustoleum.com/CBGProduct.asp?pid=464 - Textured Metallic, color Galaxy.
Oh WoW, Erin, I love "Frankenlamp!" You did a fabulous paint job, it looks wonderful. I can't even think about liquid colors for admiring the base. :-)
Thanks Kirk! :) I love most colors except yellow. Purple isn't my fave either, but it *is* gorgeous in a Wizard. Maybe if I could do a kind-of purple/blue...
Impressive! You are really talented. I'm partial to purple at least in the Wizard glitters I've seen.
Thanks! I really like how it turned out. :)
