Beautiful restoration! I remember when this lamp had the original cloudy liquid. Imperials work well with distilled water and sea salt.

That really is a stunning lamp. I've had to come back and look at it 5 or 6 times already ;)
What are the measurements of the glass tube? and what is the height of the table top? This may be worthy of trying to build :D

Its the original wax but I did change the water, it runs great with plain water. The wax has a very heavy smell of petroleum and is very soft. Here is the post with some pics of its original fluid http://oozinggoo.ning.com/forum/topics/if-you-have-a-imperial-i-hav... after a few different attempts of filtering it I gave up and went with water.
