Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Just acquired this lamp recently only to discover it is next to impossible to find (online) for sale. I'm pretty happy with it. Stands almost 20 inches and weighs a ton as it it made out of resin.

Here's the response I got "Wow, and here I thought 1 loose hulk lava lamped looked just like any other loose hulk lava lamp. Must be news to you they actually made more than 1 of these? How about that? WOW, huh? (note the sarcasm?) Here's a thought...try and be a little more petty next time, and do a little extra to protect pictures used on your site. I told my manager to find a stock pic of a loose Hulk lava lamp on Google Images, and the rest is history (I know..saving a little time makes me negligent and almost criminal (heavy sarcasm), but that's where you and the petty part come in).

Good luck with your lava lamp site! (sarcasm again)"

I tried to contact the seller on ebay but couldn't. So I wrote to ebay. I searched it on google and this page was #1. When I first figured it was someone from this site I had overlooked that possibility. I also wrote a review on google for their store and a comment on their FB page, can't imagine that's going to stay up long, lol.

Tiff, that's exactly what I was going to say. This site is open to the public, so all pics can be seen by anyone visiting the site, member or not. I bet the seller Googled the lamp, found your pic and yanked it. I have written the seller on eBay to question him about the photo.

ive had that happen to me before with vintage glassware pics from my flickr photo stream. if you report it to ebay they will remove it from the listing. i dont think one of the members here would have done that. if you google 'hulk lava lamp" your pics on oozinggoo come up in the top 5 so im shure thats how they got it.

This is the only site I have a hi-res pic of the lamp, which is what they have used on ebay. And yeah I agree it's not cool to use someone else's pic to sell stuff, not exactly representative of what you are selling. You may be right, they may not be a member, possibly someone fishing around online got linked here.

I don't think they are a member here, but it's not cool to yank someone's photo to sell your item.

Only 2 places they could have taken the pic from, this site or craigslist and the craigslist pic was super low res. I guess one of the members here took it.

Yeah that's my photo but not my auction. Looks like someone stole my pic.
