Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

FINALLY got my 74 clear/red century working!

And it even spikes! I have never, ever seen this lamp run so well, nor seen it this clear for more than 1 run. I've tried to restore this lamp 4 times. The first few times never worked at all. When I finally got it to flow again, it didn't spike at all, got full of bubbles, and the water got cloudy again after only 3-4 runs, THIS time I used fog fluid from the party store (not the stuff from Walmart) with a little added pure glycerine, and a tiny drop of clear dish soap. For so long now, I have wanted this lamp to run right. I have NEVER seen it look so good! I'm stoked!

Thank you Critter, Rodrigo, and Joanne!

This is no exaggeration...the more I run this lamp, the better it runs, and the better the wax looks. Every time I run it it gets better! It may be too soon to say, but...if this lamps keeps this up, it might wind up being my favorite lamp, next to the colossus!

Actually no Rod, that is pure fog fluid, with added pure glycerine. It took WAY more glycerine for this lamp than other lavalites I have dealt with, whether vintage or 90's. Like I said, this lamp was VERY difficult to get flowing again! I still can't believe it! And best of all, after 3 runs, not only is it still crystal clear, but it has significantly less bubbles in the wax every time I run it, and the wax plug at the bottom is looking smoother and smoother when it cools. As long as this lamp doesn't stick to the glass like my other vintage century that I restored (the yellow/orange), then...I think it's fixed! That yellow/orange was also over heating after just 3 hours, too so...it wasn't really fixed anyway. I need to RE-restore that one again with the fog juice, if I can get it unstuck!

Looks really good man! what brand of fog liquid did you get because i got some from the party store too. Do you have any idea of the amount you used? Im assuming most of the liquid is distilled water with some fog juice added to it right?
