My first emerald green showed up like this, the replacement was about half cloudy 

I think they need to put more wax in them too as they kind of slow flow.

Yep, makes me sick, Lala.........  :-(   I'm trying to arrange my lamps on a long shelf in my loft.   It looks like a yard sale, I need help.   LOL    Of course "that lamp" is NOT up there.  UGH

Same thing as on Ebay when a seller shows a NIB lamp but not the lamp, just the box.........dead give-away its nothing but cloudy.   Amazon should be ashamed too.   Like you, I depend on those customer images and reviews.  Too bad I'm the "first" review, if I even bother to review it.

I think that what I'm showing in this pic is supposed to be the "back" of the lamp.   The LL logo is on the other side.   I guess the switch and cord goes in back.    This was not the pic on Amazon, or the description.

I see what you mean now by the placement of the cord - very odd!!! What a shame.
