Oozing Goo - The Lava Lamp Syndicate

Recent history of this lamp: Autumn purchased this several months ago and it was missing some fluid. Last year, I received a lamp from France that was missing half of *its* fluid, so I topped off one of my French glitters and sent the rest of the fluid to her for this lamp (not knowing she'd one day sell it). Autumn put this up for sale during her "I'm getting a motorcycle" lamp sale and now it's mine. The fluid in this lamp has had quite a journey!

Can't wait to get this one, Erin.  This is the same size and shape of one I refurbed for Drunken Wisdom (Mark) in the UK.  He has a light blue one just like this.

Well, this lamp is now back in my possession again. So it went Autumn > Erin > BlackGermanShepherd (Jim then sold some lamps for him) > Erin. It's off to Kirk soon for re-glittering!

ya.. and teal is such a cool color.. but that sounds like an idea to test on small area.

Not sure. I could always test it on a small area and if it didn't work, repaint it. I just really don't like the paint job on it - I'd prefer it was original.

I wonder if using a stripper to remove paint would eat into the plastic too though

I have another one of these I bought from Bohdan, but he painted over it with some of that textured spray paint. I didn't know that at the time. I wonder if I can strip the paint...it's a teal lamp just like this one underneath.

I haven't gotten around to testing the color strips on mine yet.

Base and cap are plastic and the bottle is glass. There are color stripes painted on the bottom of the bottle that need to be touched up.

Is the tube part glass or plastic?
