Do you use goo kits for all these types of lamps or do you take a stab at your own recipes?

I also have a Colossus I plan to redo someday when I can afford to buy enough goo kits to do the job.

I have several lamps running and doing very well using the basic retro recipe with just a bit of liquid paraffin lamp oil added (has very nearly the same specific gravity as paraffin wax) which adds a bit of flow to the wax perc mix.

They all flow well at about 113*F whereas the goo kit lamps tend to need to run around 125*F to flow well.

Anyway, I will be looking for a large cylinder bottle at Hobby Lobby from time to time.

I noticed the taller bottles were all on the bottom shelf, but there were any short or tall versions of this style on any of the shelves of my local store.

I found the 12" version online, but the definition and sharpness of the cylinders isn't as pronounced as the one you have.

I found several companies in China that make the short version as well as other unusual shapes, but not the tall verserion.

I bought once called Kabob (as in shishkabob) that looks like balls offest and stacked on top of one another that is about 14" tall that will make a pretty cool lamp.

If you ever come across any more like yours I would very much appreciate it if you would let me know where you found them.

Comment by Dr. WHAT?! on December 17, 2012 at 9:08pm: The only place I've seen this was at hobby lobby usually on a end cap at the bottom the smaller other versions are usual with it. It's possible they don't make it anymore.

I did find a 12" version, but the corners of the cylinders aren't as sharp as the one your have.

Any idea where one might be found now?
