This is NOT a Consort, Frank. This is a VERY rare (after the Consort was discontinued, before the final end to the design - perhaps 1970-72) "Nordic." The Nordic exists in three known variants: chrome with black plastic base, brass with blocky brass metal base, chrome or silver with blocky stone-finished base. This is the most common of them, I've seen three including yours. AND the lava flows!! (Consorts are the most likely to get fouled up since they used a different formula due to the tiny globe).

Nice.  I was bidding on the Black Squiggle and lost.  Oh well, $200 I don't have to part with.  It looked cloudy anyway.  I saw this too but passed.  The black wood looks cool.
