Bottle holder

This is the bottle holder for the huge "Old Grand-Dad" whiskey bottle I bought today. I'm going to incorporate this into the base I'm making of polished brass (hopefully)... can't decide if I'm going to put the base in this wooden holder or use this on the top of the base to hold the bottle... I welcome ideas...

Comment by Jim on November 18, 2012 at 7:51am: My preference would be to have this on top of the base so its more tightly linked in with the bottle. Problem will be finding a base whose lines will work with this configuration so that it doesn't look like you have a sphere on top of cube on top of a pyramid (if you know what I mean).
