I believe this cap is a plastic Tree Top cap with a metal cap glued onto it. You can see the ridges on the cap if you look close enough.

Killer forensics! Yeah, Enchantresses and Glitterlites used these. My Glitterlite has a silver one with a metal cap glued over. Catalogs sometimes described a "striated gold" cap, but in practice, all I've seen with it had the metal overcap. Later, before the change in Enchantress globe shape, Lava switched to a smooth plastic cap that was painted (early ones being red or blue plastic, later black).
This was the cap Edward Craven Walker (founder of Crestworth in the UK) used for his Astro Baby lamps too - extraordinary!
