most turn up in france, thou there was a old black n white photo which looked like a promotion photo of one with a bottle of gin and , glass and think a ciggy burning,  mine when i bought back in early 2000's was  a u.k wired one and wasnt bought from a collector/ dealer. My base consists of 2 parts (pedel stool & stem as one bit, then the cylinder, from what i understand alot consist of 3 parts on the french ones, ( pedel stool, stem, and cylinder = 3 seperate bits. mine has the old thin flex but in the later colour codes,

So am I correct that these were ONLY made as an export, non-UK model, and were only made in silver, never copper?

The metallic is a jet custom made by mathmos. It is my favorite as his flow is wonderfull
